Are slide decks dead?

By Isaac Stalzer

This week LinkedIn News asked a question a lot of people have been arguing about: is the classic slide show dead? One of the most shared answers said slides are finished and HTML is the future.

We built PitchBoards, so we have a side. Our short answer: the slide deck is dead, but your slides aren't.

What actually broke. A slide deck decides the order before the meeting starts. Slide one, slide two, slide three. Real meetings don't go in that order. A seller asks about price two minutes in. A buyer wants the neighborhood before the kitchen. With a deck you click ahead, click back, or say "I'll get to that."

What we built around them. In the video above, Isaac taps through one tappable presentation called a PitchBoard, made for a pretend brokerage, Sycamore & Sage Realty. The cover has five doors: the listing presentation, the brochure, a map of the area, an open house page with a QR code, and the seller's client page. Each one is a tap away, and one tap brings you back.

Inside, the familiar things are still there. Photos open as a gallery you swipe through. The video tour plays full screen. The brochure opens as a PDF, page by page. Those are your slides, kept just as they are.

Then come the new things. The map of the area is an AI mini app: places to eat and walk near the house, on one map you can drag around. The net sheet is another one: tap the sale price up and the seller's bottom line changes while they watch.

Why not just send HTML? The thread has a point. A web page can do far more than a slide. But nobody wants to email a seller an HTML file, or open one in the middle of a listing appointment. A PitchBoard is one link. It runs on an iPad or Mac in the room, and the same link works on a phone after the meeting.

For brokerages. We can also set up templates for your office, so every agent gets the same branding and each new listing swaps right in.

See it for yourself. Watch the film on YouTube or Instagram, then tap around the board from the video. If you'd like one built from your website, start here. It's free to start.

The film uses Isaac's AI avatar, and the brokerage in it is made up.
