How to put your brand on every board

By Isaac Stalzer

A board you copy from a template looks like the template, not like you. Fixing that by hand on every board is the slow part of getting ready for a meeting. A brand theme fixes it once. This is the written version of How-to 01 on YouTube, a three-and-a-half-minute film. The steps below are the same ones, in the same order.

The fast way: start from your website. If you have a website, you already have most of a brand theme. Tap Account, then Themes, then New Theme, then Build from My Website…. Type your web address, and PitchBoards reads your logo, colors and fonts from it. You check what it found before you save. The Build a brand theme from your website guide shows each screen.

Or set it up by hand. In the film I add everything by hand, so you can see each piece the website option fills in for you. Tap Account, then Themes, then New Theme, then Brand Theme, and give it a name.

Your colors. Tap Add Color. The first one is your Primary. Give it a name and type in its color code. Then add your Secondary. Don't know the code? Tap the color circle and pick a shade from the grid. It fills in the code for you.

Your fonts. Pick a heading font and a body font. In the film I use Playfair Display for headings and Inter for the body. Two fonts are enough, and they keep every board easy to read.

Your name and phone. Tap Add Text, choose Name, and type it the way you want it to read. Add your phone number the same way. Once they're saved in your theme, your boards pick them up, so you stop retyping them.

Your logo. Tap Add Logo, choose From Device, pick your logo, and set its shape. The shape tells PitchBoards how much room your logo needs. A wide wordmark is Horizontal. Then tap Save. That's your brand, stored once.

Put it on a board. Open a board you copied from a template. Tap the menu, then Swap Content. On the Brand tab, tap Apply a Brand Theme and pick yours. Your colors, fonts, name and logo all switch at once.

When your brand changes. A new logo doesn't mean redoing every board. Edit the theme once. Then press and hold it in Themes and tap Apply to My Boards…. You see which boards will change before you apply it. The Put your brand on every board guide walks through it.

Then make the board yours. While you're in Swap Content, switch to the Content tab. Tap Replace on any photo, like the cover, choose From Device, pick your own, and tap Done. The cover updates right away.

It works the same whether the board is for a listing appointment, a buyer consultation or a recruiting meeting. You set your brand up once, and the person across the table sees your name and your colors on every board you open.
